The food bank outlet in Montgomery readies for its once a month donation to local citizens. "We have a great and faithful crew who know the job and how to do it," said volunteer Karen Pauling.

The second Thursday beginning at 10 a.m. individuals are given boxed food and cleaning supplies. "Usually people are allowed in the building to select their needs, but due to covid we pre pack in boxes for small, medium and large-sized families," said Pauling.

The food bank had not seen much of an increase in patrons so they put up posters throughout the Montgomery Area School District.

Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) Brady Lodge No. 116 of Muncy financial secretary Allen Smith (seated) and Chris Miller, past Noble Grand, forward a check in the amount of $500 from the organization to Karen Pauling receiving on behalf of the 'Footprints in Montgomery' food bank.

Pauling said, "People have been generous.Today we were given $500 by the Montgomery Lions Club and an anonymous donor drove up and gave 50 dollars. Among other donations were the Bald Eagle 4H Club, the Eliamsport Methodist and the Women's Auxiliary of Montgomery American Legion Post 251."

During a tour of the facility, The Luminary learned food costs 18 cents a pound; making a $500 donation provides $2,500 worth of food.

A posted sign read, "If you do not like or need all of your food please leave it here, so we may provide to others later in the day."

To locate the pickup site, take the road across from the post office and drive to the second factory building.
