MUNCY - Funeral services were held earlier this week for the two drivers killed Tuesday, June 2 in the two-car head-on collision on Route 405.

Betsy Watts, 67, of Muncy, and Matthew Harter, 55, of Benton, both died as a result of a head on vehicle accident, according to Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling and state police.

Driving a 2008 Kia Optima, Harter was traveling north on Route 405 when he crossed into the southbound lane and collided with a 2006 Nissan Altima that Watts was driving, police said.

The crash occurred just north of the Meadow Brook Trailer Park about 3:45 p.m.

Harter was pronounced dead at the scene while Watts, who lived about a half a mile from the scene, died in the emergency room at UPMC Muncy at 5:30 p.m., Kiessling said.

"The initial plan was for Life Flight to fly her to Geisinger Medical Center, (Danville), but her condition deteriorated," Kiessling said.
