Hughesville borough council minutes

Hughesville Borough Council held their meeting Monday, March 30, remotely using Webex. Council members in attendance were Jerry Daugherty, Todd McCowan, Walt Reed, Rick Smith, Andy Mook, Dan Cale and Brenda Smith.

Public works will place caution tape around playground equipment to deter people from using during the social distancing advisory. The engineering plans for the pole shed were given to a contractor to review before submitting for a permit. The declaration of disaster emergency was approved by council to extend for 90 days as of March 20.

It was noted that the April 15 deadline for municipal school earned income tax has been extended until June.

The paving bids for West Park, West Water and West Academy streets was awarded to Big Rock Paving at a cost of $35,281. The next scheduled meeting is April 13, at 7 p.m. and will tentatively use Webex.
