Lane Restriction Shift This Week on I-180 Resurfacing Project in Lycoming County

MUNCY-A lane restriction shift began last Thursday, October 10 on a resurfacing project on Interstate 180 in Lycoming County.

The current right (driving) lane restriction will be switched to the left (passing) lane on both the eastbound and westbound directions near Route 405 and Route 2044 (Penn Street) in the Muncy/Hughesville area.

The left lane restriction will remain in place for the remainder of the project, currently scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 19.

Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.

This work is part of an 8.6-mile resurfacing project on I-180 from Cemetery Road in Fairfield Township to the Muncy Creek bridge in Muncy Creek Township.

Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. of State College is the prime contractor on this $6 million contract.

Interstate 180 Resurfacing Project in Lycoming County Update

Montoursville, PA - A resurfacing project continues on Interstate 180 from the Route 15 Interchange in the City of Williamsport to the Fairfield Road Interchange in Fairfield Township, Lycoming County next week.

On Tuesday, October 15, the contractor will be installing roofing on the pedestrian overpass during daylight hours. No lane restrictions will be required, but motorists should expect shoulder closures.

Then at 8 p.m., work will shift to the structures over Third Street and Faxon for bridge joint seal replacement. This work will take place each night from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. During this work, alternating lane restrictions will be in effect.

The project is expected to be completed late-fall of 2019.

HRI, Inc. is the prime contractor on this $3.3 million project.
