Montgomery Locals Apr.17, 2019

April 18, 2019
By JADE HEASLEY , The Luminary

The first tiny leaves are beginning to spring to life from the trees and I'm so happy to see some green! I love that this is happening just in time for Easter!

The Lions Club will have their annual Egg Hunt in the Park on Saturday at 1 p.m., a well-loved Montgomery tradition since 1958. In addition to children leaving with a basket of candy, they have the chance to see the Easter Bunny and dance the Bunny Hop with him. The Bunny Hop is a relatively new tradition started in the last few years, so be sure to stick around after the Egg Hunt to have your little ones participate. Many, many thanks to the Montgomery Lions Club for keeping this wonderful event going for the last seven decades. It would be impossible to tell just how many children have enjoyed this event over the years, but the memories of it surely brings a smile to the faces of those when they remember it. I still find myself grinning when I think back to my own childhood days scrambling to pick up chocolate eggs and Palmer's Bunny Coins.

THOT "We should every night call ourselves to an account: what infirmity have I mastered today? What passions opposed? What temptation resisted? What virtue acquired? Our vices will abate of themselves if they be brought everyday to the shrift." Lucius Seneca
