The service in St. James Church on Wednesday evening last, was attended by a large number of our citizens- the occasion being the visit of the newly chosen Bishop of Oregon and Washington Territory, The Right Rev. B. Wistar Morris.

The wife of Mr. George Nones of Muncy township, while going to the spring house on Saturday morning last, slipped and fell, breaking her arm above the wrist.

Married on the 28th ult. George Murray, of Muncy Hills, to Miss Alice Fogelman of Muncy,

We came near having a fire among the blacksmith shops and carriage manufactories, on the plan, road, in this Borough, one day last week.

Mr. Charles McCarty of Glade Run, and Miss Ella Lisson of Laporte, were married Thursday, Feb. 8th ult..

The many friends of Mrs. D.W. Buffington will regret to learn she is again suffering from loss of voice, which affliction has extended for two months.

Born at Williamsport Hospital on Wednesday last to MR. and MRs. Forest Artley, a son. Mrs. Artley was formerly Edna Schoch of this place.

Marriage announced of Cpl. Paul L. Poust to a member of the English WRENS Lt. Eileen Betty Raven, of Plymouth, England.

A very lovely wedding took place Saturday afternoon when Miss June McLaughlin, of East Penn Street, became the bride of Cpl. Richard A. Seaman, Jr., Williamsport.

Miss Anna F. Wagner, 73, formerly of Muncy, died Feb. 14.

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Snyder and MR. and MRs. Fred Waldron received quite a scare on Sunday when it was discovered that their daughters, Frances Snyder, 15, and Martha Waldron, 12, had eat rat poison, mistaking it for candy. A doctor was call immediately and raw egg whites were recommended. The girls were given whites of eggs and after really being sick are now "just as good as new."

Huntersville-Grover Burkhart had he misfortune to lose two of his cows from his herd, which broke into the feed room and foundered.

Pennsdale-Willard Temple who is employed by the Robinson Manufacturing Co. suffered painful injuries recently. While working in the plant a large iron plate fell striking his foot, fracturing the toes.

Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Fry and daughter, Barbara, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Stiger in Hughesville, Sunday.

Authorization to proceed with Muncy Borough's purchase of the old "pants Factory" on Carpenter Street was granted by Borough Council.

An additional 38 miles of the Keystone Shortway (I-80) will be open to ravelers during the latter part of 1969.
