St. James Church was never more beautifully decorated for the Christmas season than it is now, nor have the services been more interesting or better attended.

Married on the 23rd in Hughesville, by Rev. H.A. Sharreetis, Mr. J.F. Bower, of Muncy Creek Twp, and Miss E.P. Manville, of Franklin County, Missouri and formerly of Muncy.

Married on the 24th, at the same place, by the same, Mr. Jacob Litchard, and Miss Catherine V. Shoemaker, both of Muncy Creek twp.

Queen Elizabeth of the United Kingdom Expresses Gratitude for Care of English Children-A message of appreciation which is signed by Queen Elizabeth of England has been received by Mrs. Henry Brock. The message is most attractive having at the top the Royal Coat of Arms in beautiful colors as well as other charming details.

Engagement announced of Peggy Nauman to Pvt. John R. Whitelock, of South Main St.

Private Oscar W. Boyer, son of Mrs. Mary Boyer, who lives on Muncy R.D. 1 has been promoted to private first class.

Announcement made of the marriage of Miss Margaret Louise Spotts and Leonard R. Hunt which took place Christmas afternoon.

Engagement announced of Mrs. Margaret H. McCabe to Cpl. Fred S Lilley, formerly of Muncy.

A short prayer service was held at the Wallis Funeral home Friday evening for Mrs. Sallie Elizabeth Barnes who died Dec. 20.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon for Miss Eva Alice Forrester who died Tuesday afternoon.

Miss Pearl Bower, Muncy R.D., 3, daughter of Lee and Annie Bower, died at Muncy Valley Hospital on Wednesday.

Mrs. Martha Opp, 83, died at her home Wednesday morning.

Mrs.Vera Shaner, 54, former resident, died Monday afternoon after a lingering illness.
