Ground has been broken for the Electric Light Plant.

Several ladies of this place went up to Williamsport to attend the FAllMillinery Opening of L.E.Jones and Company.

The first month of school closed yesterday. Everything is running along smoothly, under the new superintendent, Mr. Lose, who has won golden opinions from pupils and teachers by his kindly firmness and unfailing courtesy.

100 years ago

Myron L. Colley died at the home of his parents on South Washington street, on Wednesday morning after an illness of several years; duration and having been confined to his room and bed for the past two months, aged 31 years.

Miss Leona Brass, of this place, and Robert M. Klinefelter, of Montgomery, were united in marriage at six o'clock Saturday morning at the parsonage of the First Baptist Church, Williamsport, by the Rev. Edwin Simpson, pastor.

A pretty wedding took place yesterday afternoon at three o'clock when Miss Myrtle Snyder was united in marriage to George A. Fowler, Montoursville.

The "Y" is now open as "Bundle Station": for the Near East Drive for clothing in Muncy and the surrounding R.D. Route territory from Muncy.

Price five cents

Ray Lester Grove, aged 36, of Muncy, died at the Williamsport Hospital on Tuesday.

Last Friday Muncy lead South Williamsport, and lost, 7-44. However, Muncy was the first team to score on South this season.

Edward L. Bower, aged 71, owner of Stone Cottage at South Main Street, died at the Muncy Valley Hospital Tuesday evening.

A very lovely wedding in its simplicity, was solemnized on Saturday evening, Oct, 9, 1943 in West Milton Evangelical church when Helen Thompson Cadman became the bride of J. Edgar Scott, both of Hughesville.

Miss Joan A. Hall and Frederick James Herr were united in marriage on Sept. 28.

Robert H. Umpstead, son of Mr. and Mrs. Scott J. Umpstead, Montgomery, has completed basic training at Lackland AFB, Tex.
