Muncy opened season with commanding win

Muncy opened their season with a commanding win over Warrior Run, 17-0. In the second quarter of the game Paul Pepper took a handoff eight yards for a touchdown, and the Indians never let the Defenders answer back.

Michael Kustanbauter picked up six first downs throughout the game and also blocked for quarterback Coleman Good helping him throw 238 yards in the win.

Muncy senior wide receiver Dylan Wilt finished the night with 150 yards receiving and a touchdown including an 88-yard touch reception. Kicker Isaac Boring made a field goal scoring the finals points of the game for the Indians.

S.Wmspt. 25, Montgomery 7

The Red Raiders held South Williamsport to zero points for 3 1/2 quarters, but the Mounties scored in its last three possessions defeating Montgomery, 25-7, at the Montgomery Area Sports Complex. Quarterback Brayden Strouse went 6-22 with 67 yards and one interception in the loss. Hunter Budman scored for the Raiders in the third quarter when Hunter Budman who finished with 96 yards on 15 carries.

Mifflinburg 22, Hughesville 7

Mifflinburg's defense stifled Hughesville holding them to just 35 yards in the first half and only 103 for the game as the Wildcats defeated the Spartans in their season opener, 22-7. Hughesville senior Jase Wright was held to just 19 yards rushing, and was stopped for negative yardage on six of his 11 carries. Carter Marquardt had a 35-yard kickoff return, and Quarterback Jacob Corson had a 32-yard completed pass to Wright.
