Montgomery Locals Feb. 28, 2018

February 28, 2018
By JADE HEASLEY , The Luminary

One of the many things I love about Montgomery is that so many people make an effort to succeed in pursuits that benefit not only themselves, but all of us and the various organizations in town.

Montgomery's latest reason to be proud is that Maddie Solano-LaForme and Tara Condit have been chosen to receive honors by the Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce at their Annual Celebration of Education. Maddie will be given the Outstanding Senior Award for Montgomery Area High School and Ms. Condit will be given the Outstanding Professional Educator Award for the Montgomery Area School District. They will receive their awards at the Williamsport Country Club at a ceremony on March 1st. Congratulations, ladies!

No matter a person's age it seems like there's always something to do and something to be involved with in town that is fun and provides the opportunity to grow and learn. Over the past few years this town has been thriving more now than in decades past. Thanks to all of my fellow townsfolk for making this such a great place to live.

Malory Bryan was the most recent winner of the Montgomery Area Public Library's "Check It Out" drawing. Patrons can get one entry for a monthly drawing each time they visit the library and check out a book. Enjoy your prize, Malory!

Many thanks to the Montgomery Emergency Management Agency for keeping us updated on the rising river levels this past weekend through their Facebook page. Montgomery is prone to flooding so having frequent updates in real time is much appreciated!

Hometown Hero Banner order forms are available at Montgomery Weis, the Montgomery Borough Office, and the Clinton Township Office. Orders placed by April 6th will receive at 15 percent discount.
