A movement for the division of Muncy township has taken shape, and the matter will be submitted to the voters at the coming election.

We are informed by E.B. Stokes, foreman of the Keystone Hook and Ladder company, that an application will be made to the town council for an appropriation to build a house in which to shelter the apparatus of that organization.

I.N. Smith, teacher for the Port Penn school, has resigned on account of loss of voice, and Sharon Castles will teach the term out.

Dr. B.S. Langdon has been appointed a notary public by Gov. Hartranft.

Married: At the Pine Street Methodist parsonage, Williamsport, Dec. 26, James Coleman, of Philadelphia and Miss Florence Hitesman, of Muncy.

Saturday afternoon, Jan. 16, in Philadelphia, J. Boyd Smith, Muncy, to Clara Nagle, of Philadelphia.

A polo match between the Muncy and Watsontown teams came off at the Union rink, Tuesday evening. The first of the series was played at Watsontown on the 7th, and result in a victory for their home club. The game here was most exciting, resulting in a victory of the Muncy team. Our boys took the first two points in three minutes.

The new steam heating apparatus at the school house worked admirably last week, and all the rooms were well heated during the severest weather.

Our schools have a larger attendance this term than was ever known before eat this time of the year. Six counties and three states are represented among the pupils.

A number of our farmers were taken in by swindlers, who were selling "Bohmian oats."

Died: Rachel Catherine Coppes died at her home on Main street, Tuesday afternoon, after a long illness. She was aged fifty-seven years.

Married: Robert Weiley, of this place, and Miss Mattie Jenkins, of Williamsport, were married Tuesday evening.

Some members of the junior class of the Muncy high school sledded to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Borday at Halls Station where they were entertained on Friday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. William McMichael announce the marriage of their daughter, Blanche Elizabeth, to Joseph Scholl, of Danville.

Three Ohio men met violent death last Thursday afternoon, DEc. 28, when their small private plane plummeted crazily into a wooded area in Port Penn during a blinding snowstorm.

Clyde Biddle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Biddle, of Muncy, and now serving with the armed forces in Viet Nam, has recently received three honors, promoted to his president rank of specialist fourth class and also was notified he had received the combat medal and the bronze star for valor.

The George A. Ferrell Christmas program was held at the George A. Ferrell elementary school under the direction of Miss Linda Leonard.

Engagement announced of Connie Lou Fahnestock, Muncy to Raymond O'Donnell, of Williamsport.

The Muncy Indians hosted the Hughesville Spartans this Saturday night and the final scored was not decided until sometime Sunday, a 32-32 tie. It's official 32-32 was the final score.

Muncy restaurant changes ownership-Roxanne Parke, new owner of "Roxanne's, "formerly Peterman's Market.

Kim Spangenburg and Carrie Aderhold, two drum majorettes, recently returned from Orlando, FL, where they performed in the Florida Citrus Bowl. The two girls are part of the Montgomery High School Band.
