MUNCY - The final opportunity for viewing displays at the Sones Farm & Home Museum will be held Saturday, July 8, during the IH Truck show. The late Oliver Sones and wife Mary amassed a huge collection with most antiquities having local connections.

According to Mary Sones, "The truck show is to continue here, thanks to Chuck Kindlimann's invitation to the International Harvester Truck organization." Kindlimann's auction house is situated on the museum site west of Muncy at 92 Industrial Park Road.

A date for liquidation is to be announced for the sale of museum items from the historic exhibits now at the Sones Museum. Interested parties may be updated on the future sale by following the Interstate Auction website.

Joyce Lundy Rhodes is holding a photo of her late father, Dr. Donald Lundy, Sr. with veterinarian instruments he used during his practice and are on display at Sones Farm & Home Museum in Muncy. Due to the museum's closing, the Lundy collection will be forwarded to the Lycoming County Historical Society at the Thomas T. Taber Museum in Williamsport.

At least one very popular display will remain in the area. The family of the late Dr. Donald Lundy, Sr., has generously agreed to forward items from their father's veterinary practice to the Lycoming County Historical Society. The office cabinetry and instruments used by the Warrensville native in his Hughesville based business since 1938, is to be placed in the Thomas T. Taber Museum's agricultural section.

At that time, a detailed biography of Dr. Lundy is anticipated. It will include the three generations of his family's caring for animals, the importance of his wife's assistance, and memories by children Dr. Donald Lundy Jr. and Joyce Lundy Rhodes. This and other information pertinent to the display will be shared when readied for viewing at its future location.

Meanwhile, on July 8 as in previous years, IH trucks encompassing many models and years, will arrive from several states to the rural Muncy area for the enjoyment of truck enthusiasts everywhere.
