Hughesville Locals Apr.12, 2017

April 13, 2017
By NANCY HODGE , The Luminary

April is nearing the midpoint and people are enjoying the sunshine and warmer temperatures. I had a great time last weekend at the Hughesville Rotary Easter Egg Hunt at Bodine Park! There were dozens of children and their parents who enjoyed the sunshine and cool weather, the Easter Bunny who had treats for all, and the scramble for prizes and sweet treats. Several local businesses donated items for the community event that is eagerly anticipated every year. Thank you to all who worked to make this possible!

Another wonderful event was the HHS performance of "The Drowsy Chaperone," a delightful, wacky, comedic musical. There were so many examples of talent that I hesitate to name any of the cast, but I truly am impressed with the work that they all did to present such a fine performance.

More examples of great achievement by local students were the FBLA members who competed at the PA State Leadership Conference in Hershey. Nine HHS students were Place winners: Courtney Oldweiler, Lacey Bassler, Jacob Reynolds, Valerie Ammar-Khodja, Logan Woolcock, Kade Heckel, Gage Avery, and Ethan McKenzie. Of these, the last five are also National Qualifiers! Congratulations to all who represented HHS so well!
