This past week saw record high temperatures for the month of February, according to Accuweather it was 76 degrees in Montgomery on Friday. Most of last week saw temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Despite waking up to flurries on Sunday morning, I choose to believe that spring is on its way.

The Montgomery Lions Club is recruiting new members. Contact any member or call Roger McRae at 570-971-2825. The Lions Club International is the world's largest social service organization and the Montgomery chapter does many charitable events to benefit the town, including the annual egg hunt.

Sat. Mar. 4 There will be an all-you-can-eat Pork and Sauerkraut Dinner hosted by the Montgomery Lions Club from 4-7 pm in the Clinton Township Fire Hall. Sauerkraut, pork, hotdogs, baked beans, applesauce, desserts, and beverages will be served. Eat-in or carry-out. Eat-in or carry-out.
Tues. Mar. 7 Registration for Pre-K and Kindergarten will be held at the Montgomery Area School District Office from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and from 1-3 p.m.
Thurs. Mar. 9 Montgomery High School students will perform their own written musical, "Surface" at 7 p.m. at the high school auditorium.
Sat. Mar. 11 The Winter Kids Club will hold their final meeting of the season at the Montgomery Area Public Library from 10:00-10:45 a.m. The meeting will feature a movie and the "Thinking Outside the Box" contest entries will be judged. Contest entries must include an illustration and a three paragraph description of the problem, the solution, and how the solution would affect daily life in Montgomery. The winner will receive a family goodie bag. The contest involves developing a solution for a problem affecting everyday life in Montgomery. The entry can be a family project. Mon. Mar. 13 The Clinton Township Supervisors will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building.
Tues. Mar. 14 The Montgomery Borough Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Borough Building.
Sun. Mar. 19 St. John's Lutheran "Brick" Church will hold a 200th Anniversary celebration. A bishop will perform the service and members who have been baptized in the church will be recognized. A reception will be held after the service.
