Montgomery Area High School participated in the fall 2015 game and won first place in the state for the game ending December 2015.

"Through the Stock Market Game Challenge these young adults have excelled in a number of disciplines including leadership, organization, negotiation and cooperation," Yaw said. "It was a privilege to welcome them to Harrisburg and offer my heartfelt congratulations on their accomplishment."

In the Stock Market Game, students are given a virtual cash account of $100,000, and are encouraged to create the best-performing portfolio using a live trading simulation. The high school team's total equity was $169,855. Students from Montgomery Area School District competing in the Spring 2016 Challenge also finished in first place.

Joining the students at the State Capitol were Montgomery's School District Superintendent Daphne Bowers, High School Principal Joseph Stoudt and Ryan Monoski, Advisor and Mathematics Teacher.
