French, one of the persons implicated in the robbery of Eves & Bio’s store, at Millville, was arrested in New York city.

At a meeting of the directors of the Muncy Creek railroad, held at Hughesville, on Tuesday, Dr. Charles M. Hill was elected secretary in place of B. Morris Ellis, resigned.

Married-At Green Hill farm, near Muncy on the 28th ult., John A. Winters, of Williamsport, and Miss Mary E. Rogers, of Muncy township.

The dress of a girl employed at the Ritter house, in East Muncy, caught fire from a stove on Tuesday evening. She was quite badly burned.

Dell Peterman, at the late Grand Army fair, was the recipient of a fine chair, and for which he has been thanking his friends ever since.

William H. Armstrong, Williamsport, is being urged by his friends to become a candidate for United States Senator.

Died-In this borough on Dec. 28th, Philip Heilman, in the 70th year of his age.

Married-In this borough on Wednesday evening, Dec. 29th, Mr. Hess Strauss, of Lime Ridge, Pa., and Miss Kate S. Rooker of this place.

Max Worthington came home from New York state to spend Christmas with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Worthington.

Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Stover and son, Carol, of Montgomery, are spending Christmas with Mrs. Stover’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Dimm.

A very sad accident occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Lone on South Washington street, Christmas morning. When in the midst of cheer and happiness their little two years’ old son, Harry Byron Long, choked to death.

Died: Silas B. Renn, passed way at his home in this borough Sunday evening, aged 68 years; William Gowers died at the Danville hospital on Friday last aged 72 years; Mrs. Esther Longenberger, aged 83 years, died Monday; Margaret Wagner, Clinton township, died Wednesday night of last week at her home in Black Hole Valley, age of 82 years

Births: A rare pro-genitive feat was experienced at the Muncy Valley Hospital on Dec. 21, when Mrs. Sally Millheim, of near Hughesville, became a grandmother twice in the same day as daughters were born first to Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Millheim and later in the day to Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ohnmeiss.

Mr. and Mrs. John Burley, Muncy, a son, Dec. 23. Mother former Frances Fuller; Mr. and Mrs. Gary Puderbaugh, Sonestown, a daughter, Dec. 27. Mother former Dora Sones.

Died: Mrs. Salley Crawford, who lived longer than any other person in the long history of Muncy, passed away quietly, Dec. 28, at the age of 101 years and ten months.

Charles Gortner, Muncy Nonagenarian, died Dec. 29, 93 years; Florence Brittain, 72, Muncy, Dec. 24; Susanna A. Smith, Hughesville, 67, Dec. 24; Kenneth K. Sommers, 50, Port Penn area, Dec. 24.
