MILTON - The Wynding Brook Golf Club was an ideal setting for this year's co-sponsored 2014 Muncy Cup golf event. Muncy's Historical Society and Kiwanis Club partnered for the annual outing that helps both organizations achieve community-minded objectives: preserving local history and heritage for future generations and helping the young people of the community.

The first-place, two-person team of Dale Appleman and Dave Boudman received Muncy Cup trophies and flags. Second-place winners were Dick Day and Randy Wolfe and third place went to Jay Reed and Stacey Roarty. Jim Bergey and Dondi Hockenbrock placed fourth; Thom Penfield and Jim Vanderlin took fifth; and Cody and Matthew Rogers' score gave them sixth place. The first- through sixth-place teams received cash awards $500 to $50 per team.

Jay Reed and Bob Barley won the closest-to-pin contests on holes 16 and 6 respectively; Ernie Naugle was the winner of both men's longest drive and closest to the line contests; and Lori Fisher was this year's ladies longest drive and closest-to-the-line contests champion. After lunch, the eligible contest winners attempted to hole a 60-foot putt in the standalone putting contest. Lori Fisher's putt came up just short from winning the $5,000 contest.
