On April 20, the Page Terrors, representing Muncy Junior High School, placed second at the annual Battle of the Books Competition held at Northern Tioga School District. Battle of the Books is an interscholastic reading competition where students are asked a series of questions from forty-two designated books.

Muncy's junior high team began preparing for this competition in December of 2012. On this team of nine students, each person was given four to five books that they were responsible for reading and studying. This was the first time Muncy has received a trophy at the junior high level.

Two Muncy teams at the elementary school level, the Hard Backs and the Paper Backs, also partook in the Battle of the Books competition. There were 22 students who participated at this level, and both teams placed in the top ten.
