Muncy Valley Hospital Golf Tournament Raises $25,000 for Hospital Expansion

Nearly $25,000 was raised during the 27th Annual Muncy Valley Hospital Invitational Golf Tournament held Sept. 7 at Wynding Brook Golf Club, Milton. Proceeds raised during the tournament will fund the renovation and expansion of the MVH Emergency Department to meet the growing needs of the residents in the eastern Lycoming County area. Funding will also be used to purchase a new patient lift for the Skilled Nursing Unit.

One hundred and twenty-eight golfers participated in this year's tournament. Championship winners included Barry Ashenfelder, Mark Cromley, Richard Day and Michael Leicht. First Flight winners were Keith Danner, Ken Fry, Richard Kondan and Brian Toseki. Second Flight winners included Maurice Bower, G. W. Freezer, Joe Papalia and Carl Schultz. Third Flight winners were Justin Catino, Robert Flook, Levi Spring and Don Waltz.

The golf committee was chaired by Dean L. Barto. Committee members and volunteers included Sharon Adams, Rhonda Adams-Freezer, Janai Arbogast, Cheryl Chapman, Connie Coyner, Troy Detweiler, Colleen Gronski, Steve Kelchner, Sherry Smith Gray, Sherry Watts, Barry and Cyndy Whipple and Bobbie Woolcock.
